Day 20

After a late night last night we all slept late today (and Alexis slept about an hour longer than the rest of us!!) and then we walked to the National Zoo. It took us under an hour and included a huge long bridge/overpass.

The entrance to the zoo
Such a beautiful zoo! Gorgeous autumnal colours and very nice exhibits. Even if you were not animal lovers like our family just walking around the grounds would be a lovely way to spend the day. Our main aim was to see animals we don’t have at our zoo and we did very well!

We saw Giant Pandas up very close, Wolves, Naked Mole rats (Alexis of course thought they were adorable!) and we even caught a glimpse of the giant anteater! We also saw Asian elephants, seals, otters and a red panda.
We ate at the zoo (hot dogs) and then Olivia and I left to walk back and Daniel, Grandpa and Lexie stayed on to check out the reptiles.

Then a quiet night to pack and get ready for our very early train trip tomorrow!
