Day 24

Another cold but sunny day - perfect for visiting the Lady herself. We had booked tickets to climb the statue of Liberty (which reopened in October) but Hurricane Sandy had flooded her base and she closed with no opening date set. So we took the Staten Island Ferry instead to go past her.

It was walking distance to the ferry from our apartment, we saw a lot of the aftermath of Sandy along the way - buildings with water being pumped out and lots of workmen around.

The ferry was so much fun, and we had a great view of Lady Liberty on the way over and the way back. The girls loved her:)

Later in the day we made our way to Chinatown for dinner. We went into a little yum cha place and had great food. Their special was turkey filled dumplings with pumpkin wrappers. Modern fusion;)

This little park was outside our building, andwas a present from the Commonwealth after 9/11
