Day 23

Today we went on our carriage ride around Central Park! Alexis of course was over the moon about it and would have stayed on all day!
Even the birds don't get a lot of space!

We then went to Macy's - what a store! It was very busy with holiday shoppers so we looked but didn't buy much. We rode on the famous wooden escalators (Macy's was the first department store to have escalators)  and had a look at all of he amazing Christmas decorations. We bought a new set of suitcases because the ones we had were full to the seems!

We were all feeling tired so we went back to the apartment in the afternoon and spent the rest of the day watching TV and doing laundry (luckily all of our accommodation has had washers and dryers). I cooked dinner for the first time this holiday - roast chicken and lots of steamed greens. It was nice to have so much veg!

The murals in the subway are amazing.

Finding a supermarket in NYC is not as easy as I had imagined but I found an online service (called Urban Fetch) which is like an online grocery store and they deliver within an hour! So much easier than lugging milk on the subway!
