Day 9

Rocket Garden
with the Meatball
Our first day outside the Disney bubble! We rented a car and drove to the Kennedy Space Center. Daniel did  great job of driving on the "wrong" side of the road and we even managed the tolls!

Arriving about 10 there was a long queue but eventually we made it through and our first stop was a presentation on why NASA sends people into space and then a look round the Rocket Garden and the girls burned off some energy n the kid's playground. We had a quick lunch (nothing special, I missed the inclusiveness of the Disney plan!). Then the bus tour which was amazing!

We went in to see Atlantis - I was blown away by the size and just the idea of seeing such a famous shuttle, then we watched an Imax 3D film on the Hubble Telescope which featured Atlantis which tied in nicely:)

Meeting an 'Astronaut'
On our way home after a long day poor Alexis was sick in the car. Being a rental car we had nothing to catch it in or clean her up with but she was very brave even when we got stuck in a toll booth that wasn't operating properly and a little lost! Luckily after a good night sleep she felt fine the next morning.

Atlantis!
Alexis had a drink out of a bubbler at NASA and said it tasted salty - Florida is not known for good water so we should have stuck to bottled. Not sure if that is what made her sick though.
